You might remember these. Since then, the metaphorical clock struck midnight and back those crystals morphed into a chandelier!
Same shoes, new mood. Surely, they're the tackiest things I've ever created. A masterwork? Gene Simmons would be proud.

Fit for The Snow Queen (my favorite winter story, alongside Brave Irene.) You are a mad maker - I love it all.
Hey, I just wanted to say I love your blog, I just found it yesterday but I read all your post in one go!!!I love love love it! Especially I love your DIY post! and the before and after... I would love if you did them more often! How you made the shoes, and how to make something you have more glamorous.
Greetings from Norway
Jezebel- I'd like to meet this Snow Queen, clearly we'd get along marvelously.
Anonymous- Welcome! I'm glad you like the blog and hope you'll be back often! I'll keep your comments in mind too- I've got a couple of DIYs/ Before& Afters that I'll be posting soon...
move on--it's already been done!!!
You are such a great crafter!!!!!! Where did you find those mirrors? How difficult is it to cut those pieces? Ijust love your work!!!!!!!
6:32 pm- Yeahhh, yeah. I made these so I could fetch my groceries looking like Gene Simmons. Mission accomplished, I think.
6:33 pm- Thanks! I found an enormous bag of mirror scraps on ebay for next to nothing (1 lb? or was it 1 1/2 lb? for $6!) Amazing the things you can buy online. Anyway, I cut the shards with a glass cutter, crushed some, snapped others, just to make them as irregular as possible. It wasn't very difficult to cut the pieces, although it did get ugly at one point, when I got frustrated and started snapping them with my bare hands, haha...
i LOVE them. and you crafted them yourself. i would totally wear. but in the pathetic little size of 4.5 please.
Soodie- Size 4.5?! I'm JEALOUS! I have feet like a man, these shoes are size 11.
You did that fantastic! SO BEAUTIFUL! Unbelievable! Thank you for sharing!
And thank you for stopping by!
xx

A size 11-no wonder you make your own shoes!
Have you thought about decorating a Christmas tree with antique/vintage chandelier prisms and smoked mirror shards? Sounds fabulous! P.S. Have you worn the shoes or are they works of art?
Style Redux- Seeing as I've had crystals on the brain lately, yes, I've definitely given a crystal tree a thought. I'm sure it would be absolutely amazing, but oh my, the sheer number of crystals it would take! So, for now, I've settled on a miniature white one, decked in vintage pink ornaments. I'll post it soon!
No shame in size 11 - a long foot just looks that much sexier in pumps. I do admit though, braving those Nordstrom Rack special events, to find the right size present for your girlfriend, can be pretty intimidating.
I like these a lot - they remind me of Mombi. If I saw you walking down the street, I’d definitely pause to ogle
Jason- Fear not, shame is not in my vocabulary. Else, there'd be problems, ha.
Wow! Dangerous...in many ways!

If I ever decide to go pro, these will be my signature shows. It's the only thing I'll be keeping on so I might as well make them unique. lol
These are FANTASTIC!
question: What kind of glue did you use? I am contemplating doing this to my penny loafers ;)
