These are photos of my grandmother from when she was very young (she's now 93!!). What strikes me most are these amazing headdresses she's wearing, and particularly the flower sprouting from her head in the first image.
Oh, and the sailor collar, of course. We all know I have a terrific weakness for those.

I am a total sucker for old photos! These are great. They also make me think about how terrible people dress their kids these days.
I love those great big puffy ribbons in a child's hair...I always imagine the loving mother who put it there. We recently attended a wedding in France and the children in the wedding party had similar bows. They looked adorable!
Your vintage family portraits have so much fantastic detail! Your great grandfather's uniform...the lovely cutwork on your grandmother's apron and her wooden shoes to name a few...maybe that's where your flair for footwear originated!
Now we know, it's genetic from head...to toes! Love this. Great gene pool.
